Pizza is normally considered as an unhealthy option when eaten or ordered from outside, but what if we made at home with wheat flour base and a homemade sauce without preservatives with lots of vegetables and less cheese on it. Yes, this is a healthy pizza which is made with all healthy ingredients
For pizza base
1&1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1teaspoon of active dry yeast
1 cup warm water
3 teaspoon of olive oil
Salt to taste
Preparation method:
Take 1 cup of water in a bowl, add dry active yeast and 1/2 spoon of sugar to it.
Mix it well and let it rest for around 15 minutes or till the solution becomes frothy.
Then take whole wheat in a large bowl, add salt and sugar to taste, 2 teaspoons of olive oil.
Mix well the mixture, add activated yeast water to it and start kneading the dough.
Knead the dough till it becomes non-sticky. Use oil and flour to make dough soft and non-sticky.
Apply oil on the dough and let it rest for 1.5-2hr or till it becomes double in size.
For Pizza sauce
250 gms of cherry tomatoes
3 nos of tomatoes(blanched)
8-9 cloves of garlic
3 dry chili to make chili flakes
1 medium sized onion
1 teaspoon of mix Italian spices.
1/2 teaspoon of chili powder
1 cup water
1/2 cup of Basil
Salt to taste
3 teaspoon of olive oil
Preparation method
Take a pan, put 3 teaspoons of olive oil to it and let it heat at low flame.
Once the oil is heated, add chili flakes, garlic to it and sauté it. Garlic should not be burned.
Then add herbs, chopped onions and cook till it becomes translucent.
Next put cherry tomatoes(cut into half) to it, add a pinch of salt and sauté properly. Add a little bit of water and let it cook for 10 min with lid on it.
Once you see that tomatoes have softened enough, add salt, chili powder, tomato pulp, basil and, salt. Stir it and cover the lid to reduce the sauce till all tomatoes are cooked and quantity of sauce comes down to half.
Once it is done, let it cool down and put an entire sauce into the mixture to make smooth even paste.
For tomato pulp, you can take 3 tomatoes, make a cross on the top of tomatoes and transfer it in a boiling water for 7-10 min or till the tomatoes peel come out. Peel the tomatoes and grind it in the grinder machine. Your tomato pulp is ready.
For Pizza preparation

Mozzarella cheese
First of all grease the baking tray with oil. Then Take small portion of dough, roll it and put it in the centre of baking tray.
Then, using your hand start patting the dough in the circular form such that it covers the whole tray. Make some holes in it with a fork so that it doesn’t rise and you get thin crust.
Spread pasta sauce, add vegetables as per your taste, grate some mozzarella cheese on it and transfer it to the pre-heat oven.
Bake it at 200C for 20-25 mins or till you get crusty base. Even once it is done, it will get detached from the sides.
