Cracked wheat upma recipe
Cracked wheat is also known as Broken wheat, Bulgur wheat or dalia in Hindi. This healthy dalia recipe is best for babies and people on a diet. It is an ideal food for breakfast and a replacement to normal semolina(rava) upma as broken wheat is better in nutritional value in terms of protein, fiber, etc than Semolina. Moreover, this recipe contains healthy vegetables and curd, which make it more healthy and tasty.

Ingredients:
1 cup raw cracked wheat(Dalia)
1/3 cup broccoli
1/3 cup red bell pepper
1/3 cup green bell pepper
1/3 cup yellow bell pepper
1/2 cup or 1 medium sized onion
2 crushed green chilies
7-8 curry leaves
1/2 cup curd
3&1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil
7-8 curry leaves
Water
Salt to taste
Preparation method:
Take 1 cup of dalia in the pressure cooker and add 3 & 1/2 cup of water in it.
Cook it at low flame till 2 whistles.
While Dalia is getting cooked, chop all vegetables.

Take a pan, put 31/2 teaspoon of oil and allow it to heat.
Once the oil is done, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, and curry leaves to it. Let it splutter.
Then add onions and allow to cook till it becomes translucent.
After onion is cooked, add chilies and all other veggies together.

Cook for 5 mins or till veggies gets softens.
After that mix boiled dalia to it and saute it well.
Then, add curd and salt to taste and mix it well.
If the mixture looks dry, then add water as per your requirement.
Mix well and let it cook for 2 min till every ingredient comes together.
Garnish it with coriander and serve it hot.
