Healthy Vegetable Burger
This vegetable burger patty’s recipe is my late aunty’s recipe. It is a healthy recipe prepared simply with oats and vegetables. Even diet people can enjoy it without any guilt. Moreover, mayonnaise is not used as a sauce. But instead replaced it with greek yogurt with a dash of balsamic vinegar, sugar, and salt. It really tastes the same as mayonnaise. It has all elements like any burger available in eateries. It is good for children and better if you bake your own buns at home. Though I have used market ready burger buns, you can go for homemade burger buns by clicking on the below website link. It contains detailed recipes of other varieties of bread too.

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Serves: 2 burger

For burger patty
Ingredients:
1 cup oats
1/2 cup onion
1/3 cup green bell pepper
1/2 cup carrot
1/2 cup beetroot
5-6 garlic cloves
Small piece of ginger
2 green chilies
1/2 tsp of red chili powder
1/2 tsp of Garam masala.
Salt to taste
2-3 tbsp oil(Any)
Preparation method:
First finely grate all vegetables and transfer them to the large bowl.

Add garlic-ginger-green chili paste to it and mix them to give a uniform mixture.
Roast oats lightly for 2 minutes or until all heats up well and add them to the above mixture.

Put some salt, chili powder, garam masala and mix it with hand as if you are kneading dough. Initially, the mixture will not come together, but as vegetables start losing water it will come together.
Divide the mixture into two and press firmly to make patties of it as shown in the below picture.

Stir fry both patties using some oil and roast till it turns to a golden brown.
For burger assemble

2 cheese slice
5-6 sliced tomato
6-7 leaves lettuce
1 packet plain greek yogurt
1 tsp Balsamic vinegar (You can used simple vinegar)
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste.
Preparation method
Since I have replaced mayonnaise with greek yogurt. Follow the following step to give mayonnaise like taste.
- Take 3 tbsp of yogurt in a small bowl.
- Add 1 tsp of vinegar, salt-sugar to taste and mix them well.

Then take a bun and cut into half. Apply greek yogurt dip on one part and tomato ketchup on another part.
Then lay some lettuce on it followed by tomatoes, patty, cheese and covered with Ketchup spread bun on it.
Your yummy healthy vegetable burger is all ready for munching.
