Moong dal Paneer chilla is a twist to our normal chilla recipe. Its batter is made with soaked green moong dal, onion, green chilli and ginger, while paneer stuffing is prepared along with exotic vegetables. The combination gives you a nutritional high-protein dish. It is no doubt delicious, yet healthy, filling, ideal for breakfast after heavy work-out.

Ingredients for Moong dal chilla
1 and 1/2 cup Moong Dal
1 medium size onion
4-5 green chilies
1 index finger size ginger
Salt as per taste
Water as per requirement
Moong dal chilla batter recipe
Wash Moong dal and soak it in clean water for at least 3-4 hours.
Transfer soaked dal into the mixing bowl and add onion, green chilli, ginger, salt to taste into it.
Add 1/4 cup of water and grind the mixture to get the smooth batter. Put it aside for a while.
Ingredients for Paneer stuffing:
250 gms Paneer
1/4 cup red bell pepper
1/4 cup yellow bell pepper
1/4 cup green bell pepper
1/4 cup carrots
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp asafetida
1 and 1/2 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp dry mango powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt to taste
How to make paneer stuffing?
Take oil into the pan and heat it at low flame. Into it add cumin seeds, asafetida and let it splutter.
Then add all chopped vegetables, sprinkle salt as per taste and give a toss.
Cover the lid and let the vegetables cook for 4-5 minutes till they soften.
Once it is done, add red chilli powder, dry mango powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix it well and let it cook for extra 2 minutes.
Pour the above mixture into the grated paneer and mix it well to get the uniform mixture.
Garnish your batter and Paneer stuff with coriander and get ready to make Moong dal paneer chilla.
Moong Dal Paneer Chilla
Take a flat pan and put it on the low flame.
Next, pour 1 and 1/2 ladle of batter onto it and quickly move clockwise in the circular motion. (Make sure to move in one direction).
Turn the flame to medium and cook till it leaves the surface on its own.
Apply Ghee or oil on the upside and flip it.
Once the downside of chilla gets brown spots, spread paneer stuff on one side of it.
Fold the other half over it and while pressing firmly and flipping it, cook the chilla from both sides till it gets a crusty brown layer.
Yummy and very healthy Moong dal Paneer chilla is ready to relish with coriander+Mint green chutney.
